Chapter 8 fork: Headache Harbinger
Pannych looks at Phyr, then winces and staggers a step before putting her hand to her forehead. Vector and Alice take a step toward her, but Phyr waves them back. “Just give her room to breathe. You OK, buddy?”
“Yeah,” Pannych says after regaining her composure. “Just felt kinda woozy there for a second. Bit of a headache.”
Phyr says, “All right,” then turns to address the guards. “Let’s see... we went to see Tom the prophet, I defended myself from some bandits, we went to Noob Valley, we killed a bunch of noobs, we fought the Grayls, we met our friend Vector.” Vector nods at the mention of his name. “Then we went to Fort Roguelike and killed some goblins, and some guy named Stewart, and we met Alice here.” She curtsies.
“Alice?!” The other guard interrupts before Phyr can continue. “Is that you?”
“None other,” she says. “I mean, I’ve got a slight case of pasty right now, but don’t worry. It’s not catching.”
The guards’ concern is undiminished, but one guard says, “Busy day for you.”
“Yeah,” Phyr says. “So, we’re heading into town for the night. Can we go now?”
The adventurers bid the patrolling guards a good evening and strike out for Noob Town.
