Chapter 8 fork: Painless Progress
Pannych looks at Phyr - he shrugs at her. She turns back to the guards and says, “Well, we went to see Tom the prophet, and Phyr killed a couple bandits. Then we headed down into Noob Valley, where we killed - what, five noobs? Yeah, and then we tangled with the Grayls, and ran into our friend Vector.” He nods at the mention of his name. “Then we headed out to Fort Roguelike, and cleared out the goblins, and killed that Stewart guy, and rescued Alice here.” She curtsies.
“Alice?!” The other guard interrupts before Pannych can continue. “Is that you?”
“None other,” she says. “I mean, I’ve got a slight case of pasty right now, but don’t worry. It’s not catching.”
The guards’ concern is undiminished, but one guard says, “Busy day for you.”
“Meh,” Pannych says with a shrug, “It’s all in a day’s work. Anyway, we’re heading into town for the night. Do you need anything else from us before we move along?”
“Ain’t that enough,” the other guard says.
The adventurers bid the patrolling guards a good evening and strike out for Noob Town.
